Outdoor Scenography Consultant – Claude-Gagné Street Revitalization
The City of Laval sought to create a vibrant and welcoming public environment adjacent to the new Place Bell. As part of this initiative, Claude-Gagné Street and the areas surrounding Place Bell were redesigned to accommodate cultural events and public celebrations.
The City’s Major Projects Office was already supported by an engineering consulting and urban design firm but sought additional expertise from a professional specializing in scenography and the operations of event-oriented public spaces.
With this objective in mind, Creos developed a list of essential infrastructure and equipment requirements to facilitate the delivery of events and provided recommendations on the equipment already incorporated into the redevelopment plans.
Key Project Components
- Versatile urban infrastructure: Integration of multipurpose street furniture and equipment, including ballast blocks, Molok three-stream waste sorting units, bicycle racks, and controllable street lighting.
- Technology and connectivity planning: Definition of technical requirements, including 400 A and 200 A power connection points, fibre-optic infrastructure with a minimum of 12 strands, public and production Wi-Fi networks, and multi-user camera systems.
- Operational planning: Development of recommendations for site operations, including snow removal, as well as the creation of an Event Organizer’s Toolkit to support the efficient use of the public space for events.
